MGN Online FORT MYERS, Fla. A deputy-involved shooting shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near exit 139 on Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. All of the southbound lanes were opened at 9:30 a.m., the FHP said. The incident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. when officials responded to a call. The deputy was immediately confronted by an armed suspect, the Lee County Sheriff’s office said in a press conference. The deputy feared for her life and fired at the suspect, officials said. The suspect was transferred to a hospital with unknown injuries. The deputy involved is uninjured, officials said. No further information is immediately available.
