LAKE PLACID, Fla. One person died in a crash Saturday night on State Road 70, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Henry Oscar Williams, 62, of Okeechobee, was killed at around 10:30 p.m. while riding his 2016 Alameda Tricycle, according to the FHP.

Williams was driving westbound between the roadway and paved shoulder, State troopers said. A 2007 Honda Accord struck the rear of the tricycle near the intersection with Lonesome Island Road.

Williams was thrown from the tricycle and landed in the eastbound lane, according to State troopers. He was not wearing a helmet.

The collision sent the Honda through the eastbound lane, onto a paved shoulder and into a grass ditch, State troopers said. The Honda continued through a fence and into a citrus grove, where it collided with a tree.

The driver of the Honda and her two passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Florida Hospital Lake Placid.

No citations were issued. No further information was immediately available.
