ESTERO, Fla. The Florida Everblades lost to the Orlando Solar Bears 3-2 in the second game of the South Division Semifinals Friday night at Germain Arena.

The victory gave the Solar Bears a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Solar Bears wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with a goal from Ryan Moore at 3:45 of the opening period, giving Orlando a 1-0 lead.

Forward Matt Berry was able to score for the ‘Blades with 4:43 left in the second period when he ripped a shot past Solar Bears’ goaltender Ryan Massa’s glove, making it 1-1 game.

However, it only took 33 seconds for Orlando to respond with another goal after the ‘Blades left the entire right side of the ice open, leaving ample opportunity for Eric Baier to sneak a shot past Alex Nedeljkovic for the goal, allowing Orlando to regain the lead 2-1.

But the ‘Blades fought back at the start of the third period with another goal from forward Michael Kirkpatrick to tie the game 2-2.

The Solar Bears regained the lead off of a defensive zone turnover at 11:30 of the third period when Jusitin Buzzeo tucked one around Nedeljkovic to make it a 3-2 victory for Orlando.

The ‘Blades will head to Orlando April 20 to face the Solar Bears for game three at the Amway Center at 7:00 p.m.
