(CBS12) One person died Wednesday morning after falling off of the overpass at the scene of a semi-truck crash on Interstate 95 in Boca Raton, according to responding crews. The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened jut before 5:30 a.m., and the crash shut down three southbound lanes of Interstate 95 southbound at Congress Avenue #BREAKING Boca PD & FHP out here. I'm told 1 person fell over. Wouldn't confirm if it was driver or how bad he/she was hurt. pic.twitter.com/VIFFdhPFmX — Kara Duffy (@KaraDuffyCBS12) April 12, 2017 The driver of the truck told troopers he was trying to make a U-turn on the ramp when he lost control, causing the truck to flip over. It resulted in the semi-truck dangling off of the overpass. The driver was able to safely escape but Trooper Zarazinski says one person who was responding to the scene fell over the edge and died. #TrafficAlert Semi-truck crash on I-95 entrance ramp in Boca Raton on Congress Ave shuts down 3 lanes. CBS12 is told crews are expected to be at the scene for several more hours as they conduct their investigation. In August 2016, a driver of a semi-truck crashed, and the truck was seen dangling from the overpass. The truck driver was pulled to safety.
