Fire put out close to FPL substation in Collier County

ORANGETREE, Fla. A Florida Power and Light substation was threatened by a 6-acre brush fire near Wilson Boulevard North and 24th Avenue Northwest, the North Collier Fire Rescue District said Sunday.

The fire, which started around 6 p.m., was out as of 9:15 p.m.

Flames appeared close to traffic, but no roads were closed. No power outages were reported.

The district posted video to its Facebook page as the fire burned.
