Fort Myers murderer restrained after hearing guilty verdict

FORT MYERS, Fla. Convicted on Wednesday of murdering a 63-year-old woman during a April 2016 drive-by shooting, Sheddrick Jubree Brown Jr. was held down by deputies in court after his guilty verdict was read aloud.

His family, in tears, were let out of the courtroom.

Gloria Sparrow, a mother of seven and a grandmother of 19, was playing a board game inside her Dora Street home when she was shot in the head. Sparrow was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is still unclear who Brown’s intended target was.

Brown was found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. He was also convicted on charges of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, weapon offense, property damage of $100 or more, and possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted felon.
