NAPLES, Fla. A 50-year-old man was arrested and accused of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old girl while she was sunbathing, the Naples Police Department said.

The teen had fallen asleep while laying on the beach in front of Brittany Condos at 4021 Gulf Shore Blvd. N., according to a witness. She woke up to find Matthew Brabyn, who lives in one of the condos, laying on top of her and kissing her buttocks, police said.

The girl began screaming and Brabyn fled.

When police arrived and confronted Brabyn, he told them he tripped over some beach umbrellas and accidentally fell on top of the teen, police said.

Brabyn is in custody facing a battery charge with a $2,000 bond.
