FORT MYERS, Fla. A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a Fort Myers nightclub, Fort Myers police said.

Kahleel Perez, of Central Avenue in Fort Myers, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the killing of Rogerio Anjos, known to many as DJ Roger Brazil. The homicide was the city’s first of 2017.

Anjos and a friend went to Scarlett’s Cabaret on 3650 Fowler St. around 2 a.m. Saturday morning, police said. He got into an argument with three men about a parking spot, according to nightclub management.

One of those three men shot Anjos, who later succumbed to his injuries at Lee Memorial Hospital, according to police.

Police didn’t say whether Perez was the one who pulled the trigger, or whether they continue to search for the other two men. Perez is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and using a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Perez has previously faced charges including cocaine possession and smuggling contraband.

No bond has been set. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
