PUNTA GORDA, Fla. A man was arrested Tuesday in the theft of more than $10,000 worth of items from the Historical Train Depot, Punta Gorda Police Department said.

William Michael LeGrand, 39, of Scott Street in Punta Gorda, is accused of taking antique cameras, fishing equipment and hundreds of costly jewelry pieces from the depot last month.

Investigators found a duffel bag in LeGrand’s home that contained most of the stolen items, police said. LeGrand is accused of giving the jewelry to his landlord in exchange for rent.

LeGrand is facing charges of false verification of ownership to a secondhand dealer, burglary to a structure, grand theft and dealing in stolen property. His bond is set at $30,000.
