Record heat keeps grip on SWFL

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. The heat set a record for a second straight day Monday, and chances are it’ll happen again Tuesday, Chief Meteorologist Jim Farrell said.

Fort Myers hit 94 on Monday, breaking the record of 92 set in 2012. Tuesday’s high is expected to be 92, which would beat the mark of 90 degrees set in 1974.

Monday night’s overnight low should dip to 74. Skies should be partly cloudy, with some haze possible Tuesday morning.
