Eagles baseball opens conference play with shutout win over Jacksonville

FORT MYERS, Fla. The FGCU baseball team clinched its 10th consecutive victory Friday with a 4-0 win against conference opponent Jacksonville University.

This win makes it the team’s 20th in its last 21 games. The Eagles first scored in the bottom of the second inning off an RBI single from freshman Marc Coffers. The team added another pair of runs in the fourth on a two-run single from junior Matt Reardon.

FGCU continued dominating the Dolphins by scoring the fourth and final run in the seventh off a wild pitch.

The Eagles continue the conference series Saturday with game two against the Dolphins at 2 p.m.
