LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. A heartbroken family continues to increase the reward money for information leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old man’s killer.

Jontavious Thomas was murdered on his way to work as a truck driver, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said. His family has added another $4,000 to the reward fund Wednesday morning, bring the new total to $30,000.

“Jontavious’ family is stricken with grief, which is compounded by the fact that people who have information that could lead to his killer’s arrest have been hesitant to come forward,” Crime Stoppers coordinator Trish Routte said. “Although we would hope that someone in the know would share their knowledge simply because it’s the right thing to do, hopefully the incentive of an increased reward will motivate them to ensure that justice is served. Our community as a whole will be a safer place once Jontavious’ killer is behind bars.”

Anyone with information on the murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $30,000.
