CAPE CORAL, Fla. The city’s charter school superintendent will not extend his contract.

Nelson Stephenson’s contract will expire in June 2017, according to officials. It’s unclear when the board will ask superintendent Stephenson to formally step down.

Despite the change in leadership, Governing Board chairpersons Robert Zivkovic and Jessica Cosden feel confident they can find another candidate to fill the position.

“The Governing Board is dedicated to finding the right person for our Superintendent position,” Zivkovic and Cosden said.
