Second sexual assault reported at Island Coast High

CAPE CORAL, Fla. A second sex crime was reported at Island Coast High School, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident took place last September, but the victim didn’t report it until Thursday.

A male student, who is a senior at the school, engaged in phone sex with the victim for five days prior to the assault, even though she never responded, according to deputies.

The victim then started receiving aggressive text messages from the student about meeting up to have sex and agreed out of fear.

The two met in an isolated area after school and the student demanded the victim take off her pants, deputies said.

The victim initially said no, but the student demanded it, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim told deputies she complied because she feared the student would hurt her since they were alone.

Afterward, the victim kept her distance from the student before ending the relationship a week later.

This case comes only two days after another female student reported that she had been sexually assaulted on campus.

It’s unclear whether the two cases are related.
