FORT MYERS, Fla. The FGCU baseball team broke the nation’s second-longest winning streak Wednesday night when they defeated the University of South Florida 2-1 at Swanson Stadium. The Bulls entered the stadium with a 19-game winning streak, but it was the No. 12 Eagles that came out with a victory. After USF tied the game 1-1 in the sixth inning, junior Spencer Levine launched a solo homerun over the left-field fence to score what proved to be the game-winning run. The Eagles are continuing their home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Jackson State University. Game one is slated for Friday at 6:30 p.m. Games two is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. and game three is at 1 p.m.
