Circumstances surrounding Collier woman’s death remains a mystery

NAPLES, Fla. Many questions remain unanswered after a 52-year-old woman was found dead at a Port Royal mansion Sunday.

Elizabeth Beach was discovered at 1188 Galleon Drive, the Naples Police Department said.

A Collier County dive team and multiple police officers have been on the scene searching the canal behind Beach’s home, which neighbors say is a rare sight in their typically quiet community.

“No one knows anything, really,” said Paula Murphy, who lives nearby. “I was told, ‘Did you hear someone was found dead at 1188?’ And I said, ‘You gotta be kidding.'”

Several neighbors believe that Beach may have drowned, but authorities have not confirmed the cause of her death.

David Beach, the owner of the home, couldn’t be reached for comment.
