TICE, Fla. A pedestrian was badly hurt in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning on State Road 80, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Andres Mendoza Lopez, 35, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition and the driver of the car that hit him remains at large, the FHP said Sunday night. The collision took place shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday as Lopez tried to cross State Road 80 near Royal Palm Park Road. Investigators suspect the car that hit Lopez was a silver four-door Chevrolet, according to the FHP. Anyone with information is urged to call the FHP at 239-938-1800. No further information was immediately available.
