Cape Coral pushes to make Bimini Basin a reality

Published:

CAPE CORAL, Fla. Redevelopment Management Associates hosted an informal open house Thursday at the Chester Street Resource Center regarding the long-awaited Bimini Basin.

During the event, attendees were able to see information and ask questions about the proposed waterfront development, which would include a vibrant mix of restaurants, shops, and entertainment near Four Freedom’s Park.

The city is paying the Pompano Beach-based management firm more than $100,000 to initiate the project.

“We’re known for really implementing plans,” said Jenae Valentine, RMA’s economic development coordinator. “That’s what we were hired by the city to do… to create an implementation plan, not just another plan that would sit on a shelf for years and years.”

RMA will take the ideas gathered at the open house and present a development plan to the city council in October.
