Motorcyclist killed in Glades County hit-and-run crash

MOORE HAVEN, Fla. An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a hit-and-run crash on County Road 720 near Shawnee Farms Road early Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The wreck took place around 11:06 a.m. Chase McNeal, of Clewiston, was traveling north in the northbound lane of County Road 720 while the other vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lane.

McNeal and the other vehicle collide in the middle of the road, the impact sending McNeal into a ditch. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene.

The 18-year-old was eventually found by a Florida Wildlife and Conservation Commission officer passing by. The officer rendered aid and called emergency crews.

Glades County EMS arrived and later pronounced McNeal dead at the scene.

Troopers are searching for an unknown vehicle with right front damage possibly with yellow in color paint transfer on it.
