SANIBEL, Fla. Three ailing sea turtles were treated at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation for Wildlife.

One turtle had to have fishing hooks surgically removed after mistaking them for food. Another turtle has buoyancy issues due to red tide.

The third is suffering from contagious tumors and, after a stay at CROW, was shipped to a facility with a special permit capable of handling the disease.

CROW urges boaters to slow down in no wake zones, where sea turtles often come up for air. Anyone who finds an injured sea turtle is asked to call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at 863-648-3200
