Fort Myers, Naples hit record highs

FORT MYERS, Fla. The temperature hit a record 90 degrees Tuesday in Fort Myers, Chief Meteorologist Jim Farrell said.

The first 90-degree reading of 2017 tops the previous record of 88, set in 2012.

Naples also had a record high of 88 on Tuesday, besting the previous mark of 87 set in 1997.

Isolated showers are possible Tuesday evening with a forecast low of 67. Temperatures are expected to surge again Wednesday, when the high is forecast to reach 87.
