Bridge in Fort Myers Beach reopens following investigation

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. The Matanzas Pass Bridge has reopened Sunday morning following an active investigation, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The bridge reopened just after 9 a.m. Eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for several hours, according to deputies. Those near the area were advised find an alternate route.

The cause of the closure remains unclear.

No further information was immediately available.
