CAPE CORAL, Fla. A pedestrian sustained severe injuries in a crash Wednesday evening in the 500 block of Cape Coral Parkway East, the Cape Coral Police Department said. He was flown to a hospital with a severely broken leg, according to police. He’s listed in stable condition. The crash caused a stir in the area near downtown, with crime scene tape up for hours. A 2007 silver Lexus IS 350 hit the pedestrian at around 7:37 p.m. as he was crossing Cape Coral Parkway East, police said. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk and was wearing dark clothes. The driver, who was unhurt, said he didn’t see him. Authorities continue to investigate. No further information was immediately available.
