No rain on this parade: Edison Festival of Light draws thousands

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. No amount of rain could put a damper on the 79th Edison Festival of Light Parade Saturday night.

The largest event in Southwest Florida celebrates former winter resident Thomas Edison, the man who brought the world out of darkness with his invention of the light bulb.

The festival ends Sunday with a car show and crafts fair downtown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
