PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. A Monday condo fire is still under investigation, the Charlotte County Fire and Emergency Medical Services said. The fire at Oxford House on 21267 Gertrude Avenue was extinguished in about 20 minutes, according to a Charlotte County Fire and EMS official. But in those 20 minutes, the fire destroyed about 32 units, leaving 19 people homeless. An elderly woman was also hospitalized. The unit where the fire started was crowded with several items, fire officials said. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
