NAPLES, Fla. A 21-year-old man was arrested Monday following a high-speed chase, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Thomas Donahue, of Naples, accidentally reversed into a parked car outside of Pelican Larry’s on Pine Ridge Road after having two beers, deputies said.

A large group of people who were standing nearby surrounded his Hyundai 4DR to block him from leaving.

Donahue also struck at least three people in the parking lot while fleeing the scene, deputies said.

An unknown person from the bar followed Donahue down Goodlette Frank Road and called deputies to update them on his whereabouts.

Deputies found Donahue and tried to pull him over, but he refused to stop, according to police reports.

When Donahue eventually parked at his home on Balboa Circle West, deputies ordered Donahue and his passenger to step out of the car at gunpoint.

The passenger resisted and both were arrested, deputies said.

No injuries were reported.

Donahue is facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, eluding law enforcement and leaving the scene of a crash.

He was released on a $16,000 bond.
