FORT MYERS, Fla. — A $1 million bond was set Tuesday for a Fort Myers man authorities believe to be connected to the “Lake Boyz” gang.

Jari McMiller, 24, of 3636 American Ave., was arrested Monday and faces two racketeering charges. A Fort Myers Police Department sting last week led to the arrest of 21 others allegedly involved in the gang.

The “Lake Boyz” have operated in the Harlem Lakes neighborhood since the 1990s, authorities said, adding that members have racked up over 400 charges and 200 convictions within the past two decades.

McMiller is barred from having contact with any of the other defendants and has to give up all his firearms, the judge ruled. His next court date is Monday.

McMiller is the half-brother of Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins, a former South Fort Myers High School standout.
