LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — The wife of a man seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash Thursday is pleading for the driver who left the scene to come forward.

Robert Crosariol suffered a broken hip, broken ribs and a fractured spine when a car struck the moped he was on from behind at Lee Boulevard and Lee Court. He remains hospitalized, though he’s expected to survive.

“I want to tell the person who did this, I forgive you. My family will forgive you. Please come forward,” Kristen Crosariol said.

She thought the crash had killed her husband when she first arrived on scene.

“When i saw him, he was so pale and just his face and you know … and it was horrifying,” she said.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
