Deputies search for missing Bonita Springs teen

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A search is on for a missing 14-year-old girl.

Kayla Joy Manwell was last seen at about 8 a.m. Monday at her home on 10208 Shade Tree Court. She left without permission and could be in danger, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Manwell was described as being 5-foot-7 and 115 pounds with red hair and blue eyes. She was thought to be wearing blue jeans and a red-and-black long-sleeved shirt.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 239-477-1000 or, to remain anonymous, call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All Crime Stoppers callers will remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
