Former NFL star hosts toy giveaway in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Hundreds of children lined up to participate in the Jevon Kearse Foundation’s Toy Giveaway at the STARS Complex on Friday.

The former NFL player and Fort Myers native hosts the event every year to give Christmas toys to children in need.

“Their eyes are gonna light up, they just gonna light up,” said Shirley Kearse, the program coordinator.

The toys ranged from stuffed animals to new bicycles.
