Arrest made in attempted Porsche theft at Mercato

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — A 21-year-old man is facing charges of attempting to steal a Porsche from the Mercato parking garage, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hunter Little, of Spring Hill, Fla., was arrested Monday after Alexander Saurbier, the car’s owner, caught him in the act, deputies said. Deputies found Saurbier restraining Little in the car when they arrived on scene at the upscale shopping mall, they said.

Saurbier spotted Little trying to put keys into the Porsche’s ignition and told Saurbier he had been instructed to “lift” the car, according to an arrest report.

Little spent the evening at a Christmas party at the Silverspot Theater and appeared to be intoxicated, even though he said he hadn’t consumed any alcohol, according to deputies.

When asked where his car was, Little told deputies he drove a blue Chevrolet Silverado. When deputies couldn’t find the car, they asked Little why he was sitting inside a Porsche when he drove a Silverado. He didn’t respond.

Little was transported to the Lee County Jail. He was released on bond Tuesday night.
