The dance competition at Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School was about socializing and cultivating friendships in ways that better the lives of the 180 students who took part, District Behavior Specialist Jennifer Kuehl said. “The dance is an opportunity for students to celebrate each other’s differences,” Kuehl said. “Students are able to develop skills and knowledge through creating and dancing that enhance the development of self-image and social relationships.”
