Jon Webster Hay / LCSO SANIBEL, Fla. — A man accused of shooting a Sanibel police officer on Nov. 20 has been officially charged Thursday, according to court documents. Jon Hay, 49, of Sanibel, faces four charges of attempted first-degree murder on a law enforcement officer, one charge each of fleeing law enforcement and shooting at a vehicle. Hay is accused of shooting officer Jarred Ciccone during a traffic stop. It was fourth officer-involved shooting in Southwest Florida in November. Hay’s next court appearance is on Dec. 19.
