FORT MYERS, Fla. – A man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for the 2013 murder of Jerry Norvilus.

Frederick Edouard, 23, of 5443 Eighth Ave. in Fort Myers, was found guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm and for shooting into a dwelling. The second charge carries a 15-year concurrent sentence with Edouard’s life sentence, state attorneys said.

He was hired to kill Norvilus and carried out the plot by shooting into the man’s home on Sept. 5, 2013, according to the state attorney’s office. Norvilus and Edouard lived on the same street.

Edouard was convicted of second-degree murder in November.

No further information was immediately available.
