FORT MYERS, Fla. – One person was killed early Friday morning in a crash involving a school bus at Buckingham and Orange River roads, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Juan Carlos Quijada Amaya, 34, of Lehigh Acres, died at the scene. His car began to spin directly into the path of the school bus once coming off a curve, troopers said. The bus struck the right side of the front of Amaya’s car. The bus driver, Annie Williams, 55, of Fort Myers, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, the highway patrol said. No students were on board bus #1045, which was en route to Dunbar High School, Lee County Schools spokesperson Lauren Stillwell said.
