FORT MYERS, Fla. — Jury selection began Tuesday morning for the trial of a man who became the first person from Southwest Florida on the U.S. Marshals top 15 most wanted list. Wesnel Isaac is accused of killing three men whose bodies were found in an abandoned car in Lehigh Acres with gunshot wounds to their heads. Isaac fled the country and hid in Haiti after the 2007 killings, authorities said, before marshals took him into custody in 2014. Isaac was an enforcer for a Haitian gang, and he shot Bonita Springs residents Scott Highfill, Reid Graham and Bobby Barckley out of anger over drug deals, investigators said. Three others who’ve already been convicted were accused of helping Isaac kidnap Highfill, Graham and Barckley before the killings. Lawyers spent most of Tuesday picking the jury. Opening arguments will begin Wednesday morning.
