Police responded to the crash just before 5:00 p.m. A white pickup truck was knocked into the shoulder of the road and a small blue car was damaged beyond recognition. Tony Allen, who was driving on Burnt Store Road at the time of the crash, said he saw a fire truck rushing towards the scene in the pouring rain. “When it rains, everybody hydroplanes,” he said. “Everybody thinks they can do 90 miles an hour just like they’re — you know, just because it’s not snow — they think they can go fast.” Cape Coral police are currently investigating the crash. It is unclear what caused the crash or whether there were any injuries.
