SWFL cat set to reunite with owners after 7 years

NAPLES, Fla. — A 12-year-old cat missing for seven years is being reunited with her owners in time for the holidays.

Sky disappeared seven years ago in Naples and her family couldn’t find her. They eventually returned to Kansas City, believing they would never see her again.

However, a couple recently found Sky, who was covered in fleas, at a gas station on Immokalee and Oil Well roads. They took her home and gave her a bath.

The couple contacted the Naples Cat Alliance to have Sky checked for a microchip, which she had. The former owners were then notified.

“They couldn’t believe it, they were in shock,” said Megan Sorbara, president of the Naples Cat Alliance. “They felt somebody took her. They felt they would never see her again.”

A volunteer is taking the cat to Orlando next Tuesday, where she will join her owners on a flight to Kansas City.
