NAPLES, Fla. — Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr was arrested Tuesday near mile marker 96 on Interstate 75 and is facing charges for possession of marijuana and another controlled substance, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

The team released Orr on Wednesday, head coach Adam Gase told reporters. The team confirmed the move via Twitter.

Orr had marijuana stuffed in his pants as he was traveling eastbound, a deputy said. He was pulled over because a deputy noticed illegally tinted windows on his car. When the deputy approached the car, he immediately detected a strong scent of marijuana.

The deputy asked him to get out of the car and noticed the marijuana in his pants as he was patting him down for weapons, according to a police report. The deputy also found drugs in a backpack and a bottle.

Orr was released from Naples Jail on $7,000 bond.

The former Florida Gator has played in only five games this year, recording just a single tackle. The 24-year-old spent last year with the Oakland Raiders.
