Suspects sought in attempted Lee County ATM theft

SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department is looking for suspects in an attempted theft of an ATM.

Officers responded to an alarm at the Bank of America at 1511 Matthew Drive at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and noticed considerable damage in the area surrounding the ATM.

Police believe three men were involved. Two of them linked a chain from a blue Ford Ranger to the ATM, according to FMPD.

After multiple failed attempts, the suspects left the scene. Officers found the blue Ford Ranger they believe to have been used in the attempted robbery.
