FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee Health’s military support program is teaming up with 92.5 Fox News Radio for “Trey’s 10,000 for the Troops,” an initiative to collect 10,000 cards for U.S. military members who cannot make it home for the holidays. Cards can be dropped of at any Lee Memorial campus or Rick Johnson Auto and Tire store. Those interested in delivering a card should heed the following requirements: No glitter No letters. Only cards are being accepted No emails or home addresses No pictures of inserts No pictures soliciting dates No foul language No hateful speech No mention of killing No offensive religious messages If you are interested in volunteering your time to help vet and ship the thousands of cards to troops overseas, consider these dates at the Lee Memorial Hospital’s main lobby, first floor conference room: Nov. 30, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Dec. 1, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 8, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers can also contribute on Dec. 4 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mission BBQ at 12984 S. Cleveland Avenue. On Monday. 92.5 announced that their goal of collecting 10,000 cards had been reached. The new goal is to collect 20,000 cards before the holidays.
