SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Crews are working around the clock to put the finishing touches on the Suncoast Credit Union Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College before its scheduled opening Tuesday.

School officials say they’re right on track to complete the $28 million building that will house the men’s and women’s basketball team and an array of other events.

“High school graduations, comedians, concerts, we’ll have camps in here; it’ll be used for ages 3 to 100,” FSW athletics director Carl McAloose said.

Capacity will be 3,300 for basketball, which is slated to christen the new building. The women’s team tips off at 6 p.m. against Hillsborough Community College, and the men’s team plays at 8 p.m. versus Broward College.

Tickets start at $8 and season tickets at $75. They can be bought at FSWarena.com and the Barbara B. Mann box office, 13350 FSW Parkway.
