Fort Myers Salvation Army serves Thanksgiving meals to homeless

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Joanne Evans typically survives on one meal a day.

The homeless Philadelphia native has struggled to find work since coming to Fort Myers two years ago from the U.S. Virgin Islands. But Thursday, she and dozens of others without homes received donated meals at Salvation Army headquarters in Fort Myers.
