FORT MYERS, Fla. – East-west traffic could soon become a little less cumbersome after City Council members moved forward with plans to expand Hanson Street. The street will be widened from two lanes to four and extended past Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard to Ortiz Avenue, cutting through the Eastwood Golf Course. Construction is set to begin in May and will close the front nine of the course for about four months.
