CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A naked man covered in blood was discovered by Cape Coral police Friday night in a bizarre car crash.

A 19-year-old Cape Coral man was hospitalized after crashing into a house and several cars.

The 19-year-old’s drove his car through the garage and into the living room of a home at 4338 Chiquita Boulevard, police reports show. Nobody was in the home at the time of the crash, but a building inspector later deemed the house unsafe.

He then reversed out of the house, driving backward down Chiquita Boulevard South before switching gears and driving southbound.

A Cape Coral police officer saw the driver speeding in reverse. While trailing him, the officer saw him run a red light at the intersection of Chiquita Boulevard and Cape Coral Parkway West, then slam into four unoccupied vehicles in a nearby parking lot.

The driver walked out of his vehicle completely nude and covered in blood. Police say he was agitated, would not listen and kept trying to walk away.

Multiple officers responded and used a taser to detain the suspect. He continued to struggle with officers and medics, even while medics tried to get him secured on the gurney.

The driver was then transported as a trauma alert to a local hospital. It was determined his injuries were not life-threatening but was admitted into the intensive care unit for observation.

Police said the driver “suffered obvious facial trauma along with an altered mental status.”

At the time of the crash, it was unknown if the crash is alcohol or drug-related.

The crash is under investigation.
