NAPLES, Fla. — An East Naples woman was convicted Thursday of DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage for hitting a bicyclist in December 2014.

Jacqueline Kay Ribes, 60, was found guilty in the death of cyclist Werner Gattinger, who suffered fatal injuries in the collision with a Cadillac driven by Ribes on the 1900 block of Gulfshore Boulevard.

Ribes’ car was swerving and went off the roadway, striking Gattinger as he rode along the side of the road, a witness told the Naples Police Department. An imprint of the bicycle’s tires was found on the front of Ribes’ car, and she failed a field sobriety test.

Gattinger, a Naples resident, died nearly a month after the crash at the age of 67.
