(SWEEPS FEED) There’s a new way to get your hands on the latest tech toys without busting your budget.

Websites like Grover and Lumoid ask for a lot of identifying information and a refundable deposit, but also offer prompt home delivery of gadgets that can be shipped back with the promise of a returned deposit.

Bridget Carey, a tech expert with cnet.com, said the online rental services are great for people who are hesitant to purchase new technology.

“A lot of us maybe are tight on cash, or afraid to put down a lot of money for a gadget when things are changing all the time,” she said.

But Carey said consumers should heed the fine print.

“Look at the policies, look at the fees. If there’s any damages, or even a scratch, are you liable?” she said.

Grover is currently available only in New York City, but will launch in other major cities across the United States at the beginning of 2017. In most cases, shoppers can collect credits each time they rent a product, then use those credits toward other gear.

Yijia Wang, who ordered a drone from Grover, said the service has her considering a full-on purchase.

“I can get some very astonishing shots,” she said. “I’m actually thinking about, ya know, buying one.”
