ESTERO, Fla. – A 3-year-old pit bull rescued from suspected dogfighting in Miami is recovering from injuries to her ear and face in Lee County. Love is Furever, an Estero-based nonprofit pet rescue group, plans to assist the dog as it recovers at the Pets First Wellness Center on 9220 Estero Park Commons Blvd. Treatment requires bandages to be changed twice daily, and the dog, named Abigail, may need several surgeries and skin grafts. The cost of Abigail’s recovery will cost about $10,000. Love is Furever is collecting donations through GoFundMe.
