Immokalee gang member leads deputies on 18-mile chase

IMMOKALEE, Fla. — A documented gang member and convicted felon led law enforcement on a car chase that crossed county lines and reached speeds of more than 100 mph, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hendry County deputies caught up to Immokalee resident Juan Albert Maldonado, 30, at the Azteca Citgo, 4269 State Road 29 in LaBelle. Collier County deputies began the chase on North 15th Street near Monroe Street in Immokalee nearly 18 miles away.

He faces charges for fleeing and eluding arrest and felony driving with a suspended or revoked license.
