Pedestrian hurt in Port Charlotte hit-and-run

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — A 68-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured Monday evening when a car hit him and drove off, Florida Highway Patrol said.

North Port resident Henry Onorato is being treated at Fawcett Memorial Hospital after he was struck at U.S. 41 and Harborview Road, according to FHP.

The silver car lost its left rear-view mirror in the collision. It proceeded south on U.S. 41, FHP said.
